A dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay, fractured teeth, periodontal disease, and other reasons. We routinely perform dental extractions in our office with local anesthesia and we recommend that anxious patients view our sedation section on this website or speak with Dr Lowry about sedation during this procedure.
Dr. Lowry also performs extractions of wisdom teeth in many cases, but more difficult cases will be referred to an oral surgeon for treatment.
